The VMD controller is the core component of Airios’ Heat Recovery Unit (HRU) platform, providing flexibility for developing customized ventilation solutions. It is suitable for both basic setups and advanced systems, making it perfect for renovations as well as new installations. With features such as constant pressure support, frost protection, and wireless connectivity, the VMD controller guarantees that your ventilation system remains efficient, adaptable, and prepared for the future.

APPLICATION

The PBC module is designed for central residential heat recovery systems, providing versatility for both cost-effective standard setups and advanced, high-value systems. The platform supports two fans that can be connected via PWM or Modbus (e.g., VMD-02RMS37-2). Their operation is managed through application-specific software integrated into the PCB module.

Options and Customization
The PCB module is prepared to meet a wide range of requirements and can be configured to support:

  • Up to 4 temperature sensors for precise environmental monitoring.

  • Bypass valve control for enhanced system flexibility.

  • Wireless control via sensors, displays, or manual interfaces for seamless operation.

Customization is further enabled with a settings list that allows options to be toggled on or off and default configurations to be adjusted using the production tool (available separately). Additionally:

  • A cable connection is required to link the differential pressure flow sensors to the VMD controller.

  • For larger quantities, hardware and software customization is available to meet specific project requirements.

Fan Compatibility
The VMD Controller PCB Module supports a variety of fan configurations:

  • VMD-02RPS66-2: EBM PWM fans.

  • VMD-02RPS78-2: Torin PWM fans.

  • VMD-02RMS37-2: EBM Scroll fans.
