This is the privacy Statement of Airios. This privacy statement describes how Airios and its subsidiaries and affiliates processes personal data. At Airios we respect the privacy of our customers and the users of our products, website and the Airios cloud environment. We ensure that the personal information you provide to us is treated confidentially. Airios processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection regulation (GDPR).
If you use our products or services or provide us with information through our products or our website, this will be governed by this privacy statement. Our products include hardware and software and support services.

Definitions
Airios RF Ethernet Bridge: a device that collects data from sensors built in the device based on your use of your HVAC product.
App: Airios reference App or supplier provided app; A mobile app that enables users to remotely set the right in-home temperature, humidity, ventilation, air conditioning and system mode.
Usage data: historical data on the use of your HVAC product.
Personal data: any information about an identified person or a direct or indirect identifiable natural person. This can be a name but also an identification number or one or more elements that characterize a person.

How do we collect information?
Information you provide to us via the contact form on our website, e-mail or other means of communication.

Personal data such as your name and contact information, the name of your company or organization, your e-mail address and your physical address.

Login details, such as the information you provide to us when requesting an account to use our products including login credentials and passwords.

Recruitment data, such as information submitted in connection with a job application or inquiry.

Marketing and communication data, including preferences and areas of interest and login information for our e-mails and newsletters.

Financial information such as credit card or bank account information in case you purchase services directly from us.

What kind of information do we collect?
Information we collect about you when you visit our website.
You can use our website without having to provide any personal data to us. For certain services or activities you will need to provide personal data for us to be able to provide you the requested service or product.

Usage data, including information about how you use our website, what pages you view, the number of bytes transferred, the links you click, the materials you access, the date and time you access the site, the website from which you linked to our website and other actions taken within the website.

Information when you contact us. If you visit our website and have a question or other remark, you can submit our contact form. You will be asked to provide your name, email address and phone number (optional) and information about your request. We will only use this information to respond to your question. We will register your requests, questions and our responses and other actions to handle your request. We will retain all information for a maximum period of 12 months after your question or complaint has been solved or the inquiry was closed.
Information we collect about you when using the Airios RF Ethernet Bridge
We may collect certain information based on your use of your HVAC device via the Airios RF Ethernet Bridge. Our RF Ethernet Bridge collects and sends usage data that we store in the Airios cloud. Information from the RF Ethernet Bridge is encrypted while being transmitted to Airios. We receive usage data directly from the RF Ethernet Bridge. We will use this usage data solely for the development and improvement of our own products and services.
We receive personal data such as e-mail, username and password from your app or web application and use this data only to enable restricted access to your personal usage data.
Access to usage data
Airios stores access data and usage data in well secured separate databases so that personal access data cannot be linked to your usage data by anyone else, but you. Usage data is stripped of identifiable information. If you want access to your personal usage data in your app or web application the software will generate a unique encrypted code that only you can use to link to your personal usage data. This code is stored securely in the Airios database. The code cannot be linked to you as a person. At Airios we do not know which person belongs to which code.

Usage data, including information about how you use the RF Ethernet Bridge, the number of bytes transferred, the product features used, the dates and times you accessed the product and other actions within the RF Ethernet Bridge, including the current indoor and outdoor temperature, information about the humidity, information about the use of the RF Ethernet Bridge such as heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. Relay status, runtime data, settings, times of indoor events, indoor movements, diagnostic data, logs about the use and warning signals of the RF Ethernet Bridge, data about the interaction of your device with third-party devices and about your use of the system.

Technical data such as device model and serial number, the MAC address, configuration of your device, software version, information such as sensor status of your device and security settings.

How do we use the information we collect?
We use collected information to provide, develop and improve Airios products and services, including assessments and recommendations about products, safety, or energy use. We may use your contact details to ask you to participate in surveys about your use of our products, and to send you other communications from Airios.

We receive access data such as e-mail, username and password from your app or web application and use this data only to enable restricted access to your personal usage data. Your email address is only used for account recovery.

We may also use information in a non-identified form for research purposes and to help us make sales, marketing, and business decisions.

We may use service providers to perform some of these functions. Those service providers are restricted from sharing your information for any other purpose.

In addition, Airios may store your personal information to resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements and comply with applicable laws.

Anonymizing your information
In accordance with applicable law we anonymize your personal usage information so that it can no longer be used to identify you. Anonymized information is not considered personal data within the meaning of the law and is therefore outside the scope of this privacy statement.

The legal basis on which we process your data
We never process personal data without a legal basis for it. In most cases, the legal basis will be:

Your personal data may be used by us to inform you via our newsletter about our products and services in order to improve these services. Your email address will only be used for this purpose if you have given us your prior consent to do so. You can stop receiving our newsletters at any time via a link at the bottom of the relevant newsletter.

Sharing personal data
We may need to share personal data with third parties to help us provide services and products to you and to run our website. These third parties are service providers where this is needed to provide us with a service like cloud storage or website maintenance. These parties may be located in the European Union or other countries in the European Economic Area. We require service providers to use appropriate measures to protect the confidentiality and security of personal data. The service provider is not allowed to engage another processor without prior specific or general written authorization of Airios.
We do not provide your personal data to third parties for other reasons than mentioned above without your consent, unless we are obliged to do so on the basis of the law or a court ruling or if this is necessary for the performance of an agreement between you and Airios. Before sharing your personal information with third parties for purposes other than at your request or to provide Airios products or services we will ask your permission.
Airios may share anonymized or aggregated usage data with third parties for research purposes.

Retention period
We do not store your data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and processed. Data collected via our website will be retained for a maximum period of 12 months. The logs of the use of our website will be deleted within 12 months after creation. If you no longer use our products, your data will be deleted by us. However, we still may use anonymized or aggregated data, which cannot identify you, for analysis, research and development.

If you send us an employment application, we will store your application information no longer than necessary for the application procedure. If your application does not lead to an appointment your personal data will be deleted within four weeks after closing the application procedure. Only with your permission we may keep your application data on file for a longer period, with a maximum of 12 months.

Security of personal data
Airios ensures the appropriate security of the personal data it holds, in line with the applicable legal requirements and guidelines. We will take all necessary technological and organizational measures to protect your data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. While the data moves between your RF Ethernet Bridge and our cloud services we protect this data with multiple layers of security, such as HTTPS and Transport Layer Security. We will use best-in-class data security tools to keep your data safe and protect the RF Ethernet Bridge from unauthorized access. Where processing of personal data is to be carried out on behalf of Airios by third parties they must provide sufficient guarantees to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures in such a manner that processing will meet the requirements of Airios.

However, we cannot take responsibility for the security of the information you transmit over networks that we have no control over such as the Internet and wireless networks (Wi-Fi). You are responsible yourself for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, such as username and password.
